About

Global access, certified solutions.

PROTEC GLOBAL manufactures and supplies ballistic protection systems under its main brand, Thinkstra® — raw material, semi-finished and finished products: body armor, hard armor plates, ballistic fabrics and protective solutions. Our systems equip military, police and security forces in countries worldwide, reaching them through a network of manufacturers, integrators and distributors who rely on Thinkstra® to meet the sector's most demanding standards.

Our state-of-the-art systems are built on Thinkstra® ballistic technology, manufactured under an ISO-certified quality programme and tested to internationally recognized protocols, including NIJ, STANAG, VPAM (among others). Certification testing is carried out through an accredited laboratory network spanning Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, under A2LA/ILAC accreditation.

Beyond the standard catalog, every system can be custom-made to meet each client's specification and volume — configuring protection level, textile composition, carrier type and accessory fitment to the exact requirements of each project, including private-label manufacturing under the client's own brand.

Protec Global can also meet a client's particular or special needs, including exclusive ballistic fabric developments to hyper-detailed specifications, thanks to our own R&D and engineering department.

UHMWPE

Thinkstra® UHMWPE UD Fabric

Gel-spun ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene, cross-plied unidirectional 0°/90° — fully hydrophobic, floats in water, and chemically inert against most solvents. Produced across a 45–250 g/m² range spanning standard, top-flex and max-flex constructions, with ply count and pack density tuned per protection level rather than fixed to a single build. Supplied as continuous roll in widths adjustable from 0.85 to 1.6 m depending on order volume, with lot-to-lot performance verified before shipment.

Thinkstra® Aramid Fabric

High-tenacity para-aramid unidirectional 0°/90° construction with polyethylene film protection on both faces and an acrylic resin matrix binding the fiber layers — superior multi-hit and heat-resistance performance, with no melt point under sustained thermal load. Built in 2-ply or 4-ply layups depending on the pack density a project calls for, and engineered from 210–235 g/m² for soft-armor backers, spall liners and plate/helmet backing, with pack density built up for combined ballistic and edged-weapon protection where required.

Maritime & Vessel Armor

Composite appliqué armor for patrol boats, maritime police craft and coastal-security vessels — pilothouse, console, transom and hull-side protection in the same UHMWPE and aramid fiber systems used across the rest of the catalog. The same fiber base extends into a wider marine product range: mooring and rigging rope, racing sail cloth, fishing and safety netting, and hull-reinforcement lay-up — all engineered for the combination of strength, low weight and water/UV resistance that maritime use demands.

Thinkstra® Vessel Armor Panels

Rigid UHMWPE or aramid composite panels sized to pilothouse, console, transom and hull-side mounting points, in the same fiber systems used across our land platforms, with marine-grade corrosion-resistant coatings and fasteners throughout. A small addition of UHMWPE fiber to a fiberglass or wood hull lay-up further raises impact and collision resistance, absorbing energy to resist structural damage and penetration. Full model range and testing data in development — get in touch to discuss a configuration for your platform.

UHMWPE Fiber

Thinkstra® Sails & Netting

Mainsail and headsail cloth, plus fishing and safety netting, woven from UHMWPE fiber — high strength, low elongation, lightweight, UV- and water-resistant, and recyclable. The same fiber braids into fishing wire thinner and stronger than standard monofilament, for easier casting and better bite sensitivity.

UHMWPE Fiber

Thinkstra® Marine Rope

UHMWPE-core rope with a polyester or nylon outer jacket — among the highest specific strength on the market, with elongation only marginally above steel. Available 6–102 mm diameter in 3-strand, 8-strand and multi-strand braid; lightweight, bend-fatigue, corrosion and UV resistant, and doesn't absorb water.

Air & Aviation Armor

Modular ballistic protection for rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft — crew seat backing, cabin floor panels, sidewall and critical-component shielding — built from the same UHMWPE, aramid and ceramic-faced systems used across the rest of the catalog, cut and cured to the customer's own panel drawing or CAD file for a direct platform fit.

Thinkstra® Aviation Armor Panels

Rigid or semi-rigid UHMWPE, aramid or ceramic-faced composite panels engineered for the tight areal-density budget aviation platforms demand — floor panels against ground fire on approach and departure, seat-back and seat-bucket inserts for crew protection, sidewall panels for lateral coverage at low altitude, and shaped shielding for oil lines, hydraulics and other flight-critical components. Every panel is cut, cured and finished to the customer's own drawing or CAD file rather than a fixed catalog shape, so it fits the mounting points of the specific aircraft platform without rework in the field. Transparent & Opaque Armor

Ballistic glass and matching opaque armor for vehicles, security checkpoints, teller and reception windows, and fixed-facility openings — transparent and opaque elements engineered to the same protection level so a window, door and wall section perform as one continuous line of defense.

Thinkstra® Ballistic Glass

Laminated ballistic glass built to stop handgun, 7.62×51mm NATO rifle and .30-06 armor-piercing rifle threats, in standard or high-light-transmission builds for installations where visible clarity matters as much as protection. Curved and flat-panel glazing for vehicle windshields, doors and rear glass, plus flat glazing for teller windows, reception counters and building openings. A polycarbonate visor is offered at the handgun-threat tier where a lighter, impact-resistant alternative to laminated glass is preferred.
